Monte Montgomery! I just heard his live version of Little Wing... holy shit...... as soon as my food stamp money comes in, I'm buying this CD!

He's come to Milwaukee a few times and has had great reviews.

I love the "Learn" section of his website.
 
BTW, after listening to all 3 songs on Monte's site, I would really love to learn more about his setup! Sadly, that's the one area of the site that doesn't work.
He has definitely got some serious mojo on that acoustic of his! It's very compressed with even some overdrive on that one song titled "Sailing" or something like that. It almost reminded me of SRV's tone in spots, which goes to show how big a factor those collosal strings that SRV used were to his tone.

Monte must have fingers like tree trunks or use some really light strings!

Yeah, after I downloaded most of his stuff, I found a lot of it not as good as his version of Little Wing. His version of Sultan's of Swing is pretty impressive though.
