here are a few hip hop tracks i mixed for someone. warning NSFW. i had no part in the writing process. my roll was mix engineer. Let me know what you guys think about the mixes.

I listened to golden nugget.

Vocal sounded good. Clear sound. Good performance. Tight doubling.

The kick is loud enough, but all the instruments sound thin and soft. I can barely hear them sometimes.
 
thanks for the reply and input. it took alot of work to get the vocals sounding like they do, but i had fun in the process. as for the mix being on the thin side unfortunately that's how the artist preferred it i did around 6 different mixes for him to choose from and that's the one that was picked. when i get back to houston next week i'll post my personal favorite mix of golden nugget.
 
just listened to your song "b itch" on your myspace, and really dig it. has an "alice in chains" feel to it (one of my favorite bands).
