I recorded two songs by this group named BRANDY ALEXANDER
This song is named HIGH SCHOOL QUEEN
the singer has a soft voice and plays a weird distorted organ on this version...
The band was not sure if they wanted the organ included on the mix or not....
I like it personally but maybe you have another opinion...
At any rate:
they asked me to experiment with the song any way I see fit.

A few sections in the guitar lead may need edited with "silent" treatment.
I suggest you run solo thru the guitar lead and silence any out of key areas there as well before mixing...

I dare you to chop it up and make it your own...but I prefer to keep the song focused on the lyrics...and not a mish-mash of competing noises.

mixing Brandy Alexander...

The bass track was out of key somewhere after the 1st verse, so I just copied some of the bass from the beginning and I pasted it over the bad stuff...to keep it in key a little better

here is my 1st go

invisible monsters?

I don't know what invisible monsters are exactly, but Jake said the band was named after the alcoholic beverage made with brandy and milk.

Hi, this is my mix.

I suggest you try again

there is more that needs to be done...

I suggest you try going thru each individual track first... I will either mute or erase stuff that is unusable(mostly on guitar tracks).
No one seems to be doing this when they mix down the songs I post.
the bands I am recording are all amateurs (along with me)
They make lots of mistakes
they play out of key notes
they make odd noises that need to me removed.
I use Cubase "Automation" to fix everything first

THEN I mix levels and panning and such

I have tiny desktop speakers up here in the office...
your mix sounds like it's recorded way too loud and distorted
(I'll have to get down to the garage listen in the studio).

my mix of BRANDY Alexander HIGH SCHOOL QUEEN

I mixed this down....I killed a bunch of guitar off the solo....it was out of key

the bass was out of key during the 2nd verse...so I copied basslines from the 1st verse and pasted over the part that was out of key.

I used alot of muting-erasing at the end fof the tracks to tighten up the ending..

take a listen to my version

I will run it thru the mastering portion of my Cubase program and make some final adjustments for sure..
