High-bias tapes can take hotter signals for more dynamic range, and a lower noise floor. If your recording on normal tape use the normal setting. Likewise for high-bias (CRo2) tape.

E exojjl New member Nov 13, 2005 #5 alrighty. Also, does IEC II/TYPE II mean that its just high bias? Im just trying to find the right cassette for the best sounding quality for my deck, im just a bit confused!

Maxell XL II-S would be another. I always preferred the TDKs myself. They seemed to have less drop-outs, and azimuth issues. YMMV.
