Hi Shane and welcome, Please give details.....
PC, Mac, laptop? Model?
Just you or a band?
Just vocals or just instruments or both and if so what?

Basically you just need an Audio Interface (these are legion but please "sob" DON'T just get a 2i2!).
A microphone to sing at or put in front of an amp(/) and a set of closed back headphones.
Recording software will surely come with the AI or get Reaper.

Howdy. I'm originally from Canada...lived there until my mid 20s, then the UK for 30+ years and now in sub-tropical Australia to keep my aging bones warm!

A very good start for you would be to read through the "Stickies" at the top of this Newbie forum, particularly the "Introduction to Multitrack Computer Recording". This, along with the other posts, will give you a good idea of what you need to get started.
