Can yall help me out on this? i been closer every day with my final list, but just ran into this problem. I really would rather mix with knobs and buttons instead of a mouse. I figure the answer to that would be a console. Right? I been looking at the "new" Mackie Control that is compatible with a lot of software, including Pro Tools on the http://www.mackie.com/record/mackiecontrol/ site. Does this also take the place of a mixer or do I need that too? Is there other consoles I should look at. I use Vegas Pro 1.0 for recording and want to pick up Reason 2.0. Thanx. What exactly is a console solely used for? Thanx..
