Help me out.

Recording multiple tracks in Ableton Live 4 while playing many other (heavily processed?) tracks from Ableton Live 4 AND Reason 2.5 in Slave Mode sure takes a lot of juice.

I have to do it. Often. And sometimes it is too much.

I'm getting a 2nd hard drive for backup, and I'm wondering if I couldn't take advantage of it to improve my system's performance in that aspect.

I thought maybe I could configure my system so that one drive would be reading the sounds, while the other would record the tracks.

Would that improve anything? Anyone tried something like this? What's the best way to do it?

Thanks!

get a second hard drive, glyph is what i use, use you main hard drive for running your programs and the external for recording and back-up. with this set up i run really smooth.
Glyph also comes with a 3 year no questions asked waranty.
if you check out other brands make sure you check the speed of the drive.
