I have an HP Envy15 laptop that I am using for recording. It only has a single HDMI out in terms of external video support. Right now, I have a L shaped corner desk in my studio and a single 24 inch monitor. I use the 24'' inch monitor as my primary screen on the right side of the L with the laptop in the center and I run an extended display. My MIDI controller sits on the left side of the L... this makes recording difficult having to constantly turn to start/stop recording etc... What I want to do is add another 24'' screen to the left side behind the controller with another mouse that is simply a duplicate of the other 24'' screen. I've searched online for HDMI splitters and generally they seem pretty shitty. All the ones I've come across have gotten horrible reviews with buyers complaining of quality degredation. My questions is does anyone know where I can get either a good quality HDMI splitter or an HDMI Y cable that I can use to accomplish this?
