HD24XR Monitoring Question

hello...

have a large project coming up in a few days...& was wondering...are the 24 physical outputs on the HD24XR directly linked to the corresponding inputs only...???

& if not...is there a way to redirect the various input channels (during recording) to 1 or 2 outputs...???

[at present, I am using a behringer 4 channel headphone amp in the studio...for client monitoring...& was hoping for a stereo (or mono) input to that from the HD24XR]

In my experience (HD24 not XR) unit lacks even rudimentary on board mixing, is designed to be used with a console

off top of my head I can't think of any way to bounce tracks 1-8 (for example) to tracks 17 + 18

so essentially you need a board with as many inputs as you use outputs on HD24 . . .

The HD24 doesn't have any summing features. Input 1 records to Track 1 and plays back on Output 1.

How are you getting the signals into the HD24? I would look there for my monitoring solution.
