Harddrives,

I'm wanting to get more room on my computer, which harddrive should I go with, The Western digital 7200, 40 GB, or the Seagate Barracuda. Also I'm not sure what my old hard drive is, (my computer is a HP, 8566C, Pen 3 500 MHZ, upgraded to 384 ram, it now has a 17.5 GB harddrive) and if it is a 5400 rpm drive and I go with a 7200, will it effect the songs I've already recorded going to the faster drive. Thanks for the help.

The drive speed increase will not
hurt anything you have recorded.
There are bigger affordable hard disks than you are talking about...
Almost any modern 7200 hd should be fine.
Depending on the age of your motherboard you may be limited to a certain maximum hd size.
There are probably other posts here about that you can search for.

Hey Thanks for the come backs. I went and picked up the WD harddrive today. I talked to some of the computer gurus at work, and was told 40 Gb would be o.k. for my old machine (2000). I think I'm getting it figured out. I'm currently working on 10 songs, put them all down on the disc. And still have room to work. I'm sure I'll come up with more questions on this. But thanks for the replys.
