Hi guys, one quick question here regarding DI guitar recording. Say strumming a powerchord only phrase, will you mute the unrelated and strum all the string or just strum the exact 2 or 3 strings of the powerchord? cheers!

Is it an active DI or a passive DI? An Active DI will mute the unrelated strings for you whereas a passive will not.

Just play the guitar like you normally would. The di box just conditions the signal so it is ehat you mic preamp expects. It doesnt change the performance at all.

A bit of fun there! :laughings:
Fairview has the actual answer. When you play power chords, you only play the first two or three. Makes no difference whether it's played through a 200W Marshall stack or through a $5 direct box.

Where can I get a $5 DI that works? :D
