Godin Freeway SA Guitars

I don't have one but a buddy of mine has a Godin and I found it to be a pretty nice guitar.
I do have a Roland GR1 and a midi fender strat, but have never hooked them up
and played them. Go figure?

I am interested in the Godin Freeway SA guitar interfaced to the Roland GR-33 guitar synth.

If anyone is using this setup, could you let me know the pros and cons. I plan on finding a local dealer this week and trying one out. I just wanted to hear from other musicians who might have one. Thanks.

I don't have an SA Godin, just an LG, and I love it. My advice is to ask for 30% off list price--unless you can do better. When I bought mine, the dealer showed me the Godin list sheet (which was in the Godin dealer catalog), and another dealer offered the same--which was any Godin for 30% off list.

I've got a Godin LGX-SA and use it with a GR-50.
The guitar itself is great, tracking is acceptable to good through the synth (much better than a GK-2 hex pickup IMHO). And the range of sounds the guitar provides itself (w/ magnetic Seymour Duncan and RMC transducer pickups) is fantastic.
Now, as the GR-50 is getting pretty long in the tooth, I am seriously looking at a Roland VG-88. I'm less interested in a pure synth/MIDI controller (as the GR-50 fulfills that role for me), and more interested in the modelling and effects that the VG-88 offers - you may want to consider that option if that's what you are looking for.
