Garageband + Tascam 1641 having trouble setting up...ideas?

Hello again people!

I am having a bit of trouble setting up my 1641 on a macbook. I have updated the drivers and FW on it and I don't seem to get it to recognize it. I'm sure there must be others using the same setup as me but I am a bit lost, and I am a new mac user haha. If there is a thread someone can point me to I would really appreciate it, search and I are not finding much.

Did you go to Garageband's preferences and set up the Tascam?

Did you go to Garageband's preferences and set up the Tascam?

I tried but it didn't even find it. From a few things I have read some people have had issues setting it up with the OS?
