Good shape. Was serviced by EV a few years ago. I believe they put on a new grill and grip didn't capture the grip in the pic (brain fart).

These are great mics. A totally different color than say an SM57 - much smoother/ribbon sounding. Helps tame shrilly/nasally voices.

I just got a sweet pair of matching RE18s and really don't need a third.

$70 shipped via Priority.
Dirt cheap for a very usable mic!

i'm interested....what do you find this mic usable on? Same as a 57? I'm using a Audio Technica dynamic on snares right now and I'm not too excited about it...

Adam,

I really like it on acoustic guitar and vocals.

It can definitely be used in place of a 57, but know that it will give you a distinctly different color which may not always be ideal.

From my experiences, the 57 has more high-end (unless you have a really old unidyne 57), so the 57 might be better for rock snare where you want a lot of pop/attack. But if you were going to use brushes or wanted a rounder/warmer tone, it would be a good mic for the task.

If the 57 doesn't work on something, good chance the RE18 will. And vice versa.

Thanks,

Josh

Somebody buy this! I paid more than this for a really beat up RE-18. It works fine and I love it. But this is a great deal and it's tempting me...

So somebody buy this one!
