Because I needed portable firewire interface. I went with the Echo audiofire 12.
I truley believe Echo stuff is way under rated.

is it a 10 input card?
and do u think mixing it up with a motu828 firewire would cause problems?

I don't think it would pair with your Motu. 2 different drivers.
