I'm trying to find a way of recording drum parts by playing them on my controller keyboard but using my own drum samples instead of the standard GM sounds you get with a plug-in like halion (cubase).
Is there a program that will let me upload trigger my own samples when I play my keyboard. Ive tried sample tank free but i only managed to get it to work the once and i cant seem to do it since then.
I write a lot of songs for my band in cubase and play the drum parts on my keyboard but i'm not a big fan of the sounds you get with halion. The only way i get around making the drums sound better is by recording each drum on it's own midi track, export the midi track to an audio track and then assign a trigger plug-in so that the audio track triggers one of my own samples. But this is very time consuming and i'd like to be able to trigger my own samples with my keyboard from the very beginning.
Any help will be totally appreciated,
