Fostex MR-8HD/CD *advice and guidance and experience wanted*

after 72 hours of obsessive searching and debating about a way to 'better' record my band,

i purchased a used Fostex MR-8HD/CD,

4 channels simultaneous, the ability to move the files into my computer for further improvements and simple and $130 to my door

and stand alone (no interfase issues) is what influenced me. (if i could afford $400 id have got the zoom r16)

if anyone has experience with this unit and would like to share any tips/tricks/advice id be grateful

my thinking is i will place 4 mics in the room/drape them on cabs, etc.

I'll hit you up on PM, but the biggest downside to Fostex is that they are done in North America, no support. I have an MR16HD, I'll give you some tips and advice on how work around the somtimes goofiness of the device...

at least ill have an original sound
