I was told the other day that when the drive in the DMT8-VL is formatted, that the entire data (i.e. songs files) is wiped and non-recoverable, unlike on a standard PC hard drive where the data remains intact in a partition until recorded over again. I'm not sure I was just being fobbed off by the guy. He was an SCV employee but not a technical support as such. Anybody know the answer?
