im going to be recording into a white apple macbook 2GB 120gb, im only going to be recording vocals, is there a big difference between the mbox usb and mbox firewire to do this? i'll really appreciate your help

USB uses the computer's CPU, so if you've got firewire on the Mac, use it!

Big difference? No. As mjb correctly stated, the USB version will put a little more drag on the host cpu; Firewire will not. But for tracking a single vocal line at a time, your MacBook has plenty of horsepower to run either one without issue.

Prolly not, I assume they have the same pre's. The firewire one has some additional line-out's which require more bandwidth, which is why it uses fw instead of usb. Firewire is faster overall, if you ever need to record a lot of tracks at once, USB couldn't keep up. USB is fine for 2 tracks, FW can take as many tracks as you could ever need.

this was the first question i ask and i got the answers i was hoping to get, thanks a lot everybody
