Hello everyone. I'm a newbee here - first post. 
I just ordered an RME Fireface 800 interface and I'm trying to decide what card to buy for my laptop. I've got pcmcia and express card slots. I'm wondering which route I should go. My laptop is new and plenty powerful enough - (Dell from late last year - XPS), but only has a 1394 firewire port (so guess I could do 400 with that).
So pcmcia or express card? Which one? I've heard that I need to be looking for TI based chips in the card.
