Fire Wire CDRW

I am contemplating purchasing a CDRW. I have a Mac Dual Processor 500, and am looking at either an internal SCSI CDRW or a Firewire CDRW. Has anyone had experience with Firewire (Which is what I am now leaning toward)? Any pitfalls or things to look out for?
