Great intro. Sounds good thru phones. Initial reminds me of Remy Shand who got signed to Motown.
Find bass doesn't quite stand out from kick or snare. There is mush so have to seperate those a bit.
Nice mix on the whole apart from muddle in the bass. There is a tad too much compression. Presses the ears a bit much.
I think to do this style you don't have to be modern and compress everything. It, the song, sounds nice. How about pull back on the muddle? Make a bit clearer.

Yeah, really nice intro. Very beautiful.
A bit busy from inital intro to 45 seconds. Suggest getting rid of the bassy bits from 15 secs until it hits the verse proper then introduce bass.
