Hi, recently the M-Audio FireWire Solo has caught my eye. I asked a while back here about the MobilePre, but the FireWire connection has drawn me in. Has anyone had any experience with it or has anyone read any product feedback? The general consensus seems to be that USB units are either a hit or miss, and that FireWire is a better choice. I am interested how it performs since it's only $199.
How does it compare with all those USB units in the same price range? I plan on recording guitar just by myself so the amount of inputs is not an issue with me. I plan on bringing a Laptop with me to college, and this unit seems like a great addition.
