Apex 185 mic's come as a matched stereo pair. When I plug my 185 into my mackie 1202 with any type of cable, it has a pretty low amount of noise... as soon as I add ANY mic to my board in any mic pre, the apex one starts emitting alot more noise... I tried the other one of the mic's, same problem.... I swapped them at the store, and I'm getting the same problem...I thought that it could be the part on the board that supplies phantom power, so I used an sm57+ studio projects b1 (which requires phantom power, and that weird noise doesn't appear). I tried using higher quality cables, and still, no solution.
It's weird.. the apex mic only makes that high amount of noise when I use the apex + any other mic... what could it be? Thanks guys
