Evolution of the Audio Recorder

In the late 1990's, my R2R tape recorder collection was greatly influenced by a book my wife gave me called the "Evolution of the Audio Recorder" by Phil Van Praag. Phil had worked for Ampex as a Senior Instructor. His book discusses the evolution of sound recording and then profiled many of the consumer and pro tape recorders. We were very lucky to just have Phil tour our Museum and sit down for an interview about his work with Ampex and many other aspects of recording. Links - Museum of Magnetic Sound Recording

Nicely done! Just got done watching it. I really enjoy all the anecdotal first-hand information...good stuff!
