It rained all day here as my girlfriend slept. Bored I wrote this. I played the acoustic and vocals together and added the rain on a separate track.
The chain is MXL 770>1202vlz Mackie mixer pre> Emu 404> Reaper
On the vocal/guitar track I added the "Ambience" reverd with the vocal mellow setting & Classic compressor with Vocal selected.
The rain track had no effects.
Master had Classic compressor effect with mix down selected & Ambiance with vocal straight selected & Gclip
Any help or suggestions about song writing, mic chain, effects, or anything that might help me mix correctly would be greatly appreciated. Being super critical is fine as it helps right.
