Does this head eliminate havin to put a cushion or blanket ar anything
inside the kick drum?? Somone please explain whats different about
this head. Thanks.
 
You will not have to have anything in your kick to dampen the batter head. It has these foam rings that dampen the head. The thick one dampens more than the thin one. they really sound good and record well. You might still need something to dampen the front head. (tuning it really low usually works)

BTW if you use old school wood or plexiglass beaters, get yourself a kevlar patch. The patch that comes with it doesn't hold up as well.
