Etek Multi Di box

I've got the chance of picking up a cheap active di box/splitter with multiple ins and outs for US$100 reduced from US$250, called Etek Multi Di (see specs and picture at www.soundslive.co.uk/1422.htm).

Just curious, are there many different qualities of di box (like there are mixers and preamps) or are they fairly standard accross the board?

I need it for helping me get two direct lines from my guitar into my soundcard (via convertor box I should say) simultaneously with two or more mic lines from one or two amps connected to the guitar.

I've always recorded a single mono signal from my guitar until now but want to experiment with different mixes of sound from - direct line in and mic.

Any problems with quality of signal through a box like this do you think?

- Phantom Power 48 V
- External Power Supply 12 - 30 V DC
- Electronically Input Balanced/Unbalanced
- Switchable Gain 0 / -20 dB / -40 dB
- Switchable Input Impedance 2K2 / 22K / 400K Ohm
- Ground / Lift Function
- Electronically Balanced Output
- Output Impedance 100 Ohm
- Freq. Bandwidth 5 Hz ÷ 40 KHz
- Frequency Response 5 Hz ÷ 50 KHz
- THD < 0.05 %
- Dimensions mm 44 x 483 x 100
- Weight Kg 1.8

"It is possible to use the Multi Di to link 2 inputs with eachother and have 4 outputs with a single input. The link can be programmed by means of a switch. When the leds are lit it means the channels are active".

Thankyou, if anyone uses these boxes and knows what to look out for quality wise.
