eq with midi?

I'm considering placing an eq between my PC audio output and my monitors. Will the difference be noticeable when playing back music from my midi keyboard? Any particular makes/models?
 
Why would you place an EQ between PC and monitors? You probably won't get "What you record is what you hear" that way. Most studio doesn't put EQ in their monitoring line unless they have special reason and they know what to do. It's to keep the engineer being objective to how it realy sounds. :)

The difference will deppend on many factors (eg, brand and model, how do you tweak/config it, etc).

I find monitoring intensely difficult. If putting some EQ in helps you make recordings that sound good on your stereo, then go with it. I wonder if you shouldn't just sort the problems out before that point, though?
