Elliott Smith Recording, Simultaneous Mic'ing

This is a lovely video/recording of elliott smith, one of my favorite artists.

It looks like he is singing and playing into the same mic simultaneously.
Does anyone have a clue as to what mic it is?

Looks like a Neumann U87, but the resolution of the vid is not very good. Lots of mics have used very similar body styles to the U87.

It really hit me hard for some reason. How someone so talented and writing such beautiful music could think that life wasnt worth living any more. I don't understand it. But great find! Thanks for sharing

As for the mic... its a silver mic, looking like every mic every made since the U87. It could be anything. Maybe someone with better eyes than me might shed some light on it.
