OK, admit mic knowledge is not my forte (if anything is) but I have a couple of general questions after reading some of these ubb's.
My MAIN concern with choosing a mic is going to be it's frequency curve, right? For example, I couldn't get good kick drum sound, looked at the frequency response chart that came with the mic, and it showed that it dropped off the scale from 60Hz to 20Hz. AHA!!! But some mics have a better frequency curves but still suck, so looking at technical data, how can you tell if a mic is worth a damn?? Also, someone PUH-LEASE enlighten me on the mic ohm stuff. I've seen 600, 900 ohms on mics..... so what?
Why did I have to buy that mic adapter/transformer thing on my 414? Why couldn't I go straight adapter?
