ECS K7S5A, Aardvark and XP or Win2K... (anyone got this working?)

So far I've tried:

ECS K7S5A, AMD XP 1700+ with an Aardvark DirectPro 24/96

Win2K Pro, Aardvark Beta 4 drivers
WinXP Pro, Aardvark Beta 5, logging version

Both combinations produce a faint high pitch whine in my left channel....

The same hardware with WinMe and the 5.14 Aardvark Win9x drivers work fine.

Anybody out there have this MOBO working with an Aardvark card and Win2K or XP?

I hate being the thread police, but I gotta think after 1000+ posts you'd know not to post basically the same thread twice in the same forum.

Basically the same, yes, but I know that I often scan the subject lines of new posts and never open certain posts based on what I read. The last thread was a bit of a chronicle of the whine, and I wanted to follow up with my latest findings. Now that I think I've isolated it to the OS and Drivers, I started a new thread to specifically ask a question.

Plus some people use the search button here, and only search subject lines, not content.

so there.... sue me.... flame me....
...but IMO, a different thread was justified.

Two strikes... (for this combo)
Put together a general use machine for my Brother with the same MOBO. While I had it open, I swapped in my XP Pro HD and my Aark card...

Same whine...

Still hoping it is the drivers, XP Pro is sweet, I hate having to go back to WinMe.
