dumping recordings from 388 to garageband

I'm trying to dump pretty loud mix onto garage band using an ART 2tr usb interface is there anything that comes with GB that I could use to eliminate clipping from the source being so loud limiter, graphic eq, etc ? also consider I'm just coming out from the stereo outs on the 388 and not using individual tape outs or anything fancy. I also realize I could lower master meter on actual tape machine but i want to push the tape as hard as possible with clipping cpu.

I've never transferred anything from analog recordings, but I know that in digital, if it's coming in too hot, there's nothing you can do. I've heard that tape can definitely go past 0 db no problem. In digital, if you go past 0 db, you're going to run into some problems. You can apply a limiter with look ahead, but why would you limit your source when you can simply turn it down?
