dumb question...

OK...i bet this has been asked before. i would ask this in the cubase forum, but it is so basic, it just feels wrong to do so.

I am running my Yamaha 01v mixer as a slave to my computer. I have connected it via ADAT to my terratec ews 88d card and have also connected it via Midi. I can control EQ, volume faders, etc in cubase through my 01v. here is my problem.

I want to record vocals onto Cubase sx by connected a mic to, say, channel 2 on my 01v...i cannot seem to record anything. I must be missing a connection...or something...

If any additional info is needed, let me know...and thanks in advance!

You need to trouble shoot the devices and follow the signal path.

Is the mic's sound coming through the mixer?
If so do you have the channel assigned to a buss (output) that is assigned to the ADAT output?
If you have done all the above is the SoundCard input levels up? Is your software setup to use the soundcard?
Is the software setup to record on a track and is that track assigned to the right input on the soundcard?
