DSL=Dropouts

I am only working on 256 ram, I would occasionally get some dropouts while recording.

I realized turning my computer sounds off was a good idea, but also, I discovered that turning off my DSL box was also a big help, and now my dropouts are very rare.

So, just an FYI to keep those DSL boxes off while recording.

(Yes, I know, I am being bad by using my computer for multi-purpose, not just recording, but I figure someone else probably is too and might find this info helpful).

You could also disable your conneciton with the Network control panel, and then enable when you wanted to get back online. Might be easier than unplugging your DSL box.

Yeah, that too.

-- And if you have Win2K or XP -- tweak your services. You can reclaim a lot of RAM and improve OS performance that way too.
