Hey,

Here's a few beats of my first realy drums recording.
The kit is exeptionally crappy (very old Mapex), and the room has a really strange sound to it (approximately 3x4 meters, totally parallel walls, with lot's and lot's of junk stored near the walls). I used 2 MXL-1006 as over heads, a 57 on the snare, and a 58 on the kick. Mixed on location to 2 tracks.
No reverb, no compression.

Tell me what you think, all things considered...

If you have a better sounding room and set, then I think would be ok. I heard the hihat pretty well. Unfortunately the toms and cymbals sound like crap. I am sorry but they do. It is a crappy set though like you said. Just being honest.

Nothing to be sorry about. The kit's pretty awfull, and that's a given fact. Still, I'm happy that the recording sounds exactly like the kit, which means, I did an Ok. job. Also, when mixed in the song, IMHO, it still sounds better, or at least more alive, then Fruity Loops or whatever.

Thanks for the listen,

Oren
