Drummachine or soundfonts/sample CD's.

Hi guys 'n girls!

What would you prefer to get good drumsounds in your songs: drummachines (in particular a Yamaha RM50 I got my eyes set on) or using soundfounts? I'm not just talking about soundquality, but rather about general easy of use and satisfaction.

general ease of use and satisfaction is a subjective issue and will very from person to person...for myself, i much rather working with samples, and hopefully soon, soundfonts......
 
Samples can give you a very realistic drum sound... if you can find samples that fit in with the style of tune you are doing. Drum machines / software will give you more versatility but will sound less real and more electronic.
 
I listened to QuestLove , drummer for The Roots ( hip hop ),
and at times his style sounds like a drum machine.
