is that snare head new? One thing I've learned is to not just replace the batter head but replace the snare side too. Makes a huge difference. Also make sure youre hitting the head hard enough, in the right spot and with a good stick. Never tried the dr scholls moongels everyone ive talked to that uses them says "just use tape"
