Right now I am using a 57 on the bass and snare... with two condensors a few feet from the front to grab the brass etc...

Any mics a little cheaper than the 57 that will work as well for drums?
 
what condensors are you usin. maybe youre next step is somethin a bit more appropriate for the kick- 57 on snare is pretty typical
 
keep going with the sm57 on the snare and the inside of the kick and use the NT1 out in front of the kick in a tunnel built with heavy blankets and then use the ksm25 overhead .......
