Drum Machines

I understand that drum machines are likely frowned upon, although consider I have neither the time, space, money, or place to have actual percussion, what would be the best drum machine for a reasonable price? (doesn't matter how old it is, so long as it is good; and I've actually heard that older machines are more desirable as they produce the sounds through an analog process rather than recorded percussion sounds, thus having more originality.) So what's a good drum machine with looping, good selection, and the potential for original sounding beats?

Thanks guys =)

I used to have the BOSS DR550, there is the more current models than that available by BOSS such as the DR660. I have a ZOOM 234 that has great versatilities including bass for the price. I however aren't a big fan of any other ZOOM product that I have used.
