Drum Machines

Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding Drum machines. I would like to get one and have no idea on features or compatibility with using with a 4-track.

Also, what would be the best way to record one of these?

Thanks

well im no expert...
but i bought a Zoom RhythmTrak 234 not too long ago. It was cheap but really excellent. It is really user friendly, you can program it in real time or in steps, it has heaps of kits and weird sounds. the only prob is if your into dance you don't have all the effects to add to individual drums. I think Boss have a cheap machine that has really cool effects you can program in real time. but anyway if your looking for cheap and easy i reccomend this.

I have an Alesis sr16 (which some folks on this bbs scoff at) but I like okay. They're about $200 I think fairly easy to work with. I just record mine direct into my 4 track.

Check out the Boss drum machines. They have several models that probably can suit your needs.I personally own the Boss Dr202 DR Groove box and it's perfect for my uses.
Also check out machines from Korg.
