Just wanna know if a drum machine is the best thing to use for deep hip-hop bass (booty-Music-type bass) and Jungle? If not then what is it. I don't want to sample completely because it's to easy and I also want to be a little original. So if anyone knows of any equip that will produce this bass could you help me out. Thanks

If you don't want to spend the loot on a MPC, then purchase a copy of Fruity Loops Pro version 3.

http://www.cakewalk.com

Then download a copy of this program called Stomper (I have to find the site address :( ).

Stomper will enable you to adjust the lower end frequencies of your kicks and 808's (it is also included on the ASR-X-Pro).

There are other programs you can use to do this job, but I know that this program works. :)

Also pick up a good "editor" like Sound Forge.

Also, there is a site with a TON of freeware/shareware.

Hope this could be of some help...

peace.

p.s. I try to find the site for you then post it back here in thi thread. Or you could check on that "Hitsquad" site for a link.

Thanks Spin, Can always count on you for a quick and precise response. The MPC 2000 is a drum machine which will produce this deep bass? I think it might be better for me to just use the computer for final editing, so as to save from upgrading it too much. Plus I want to make my studio look professional ! :)

Even when you get the MPC 2000, you still might want to use the "Stomper" program (I know that it comes factory installed on the ASR-X Pro), but you could use it on your computer.

"I don't want to sample completely because it's to easy and I also want to be a little original."

Just because you don't know how to sample don't label it as easy or unoriginal. Why don't you let this forum compare your "original" music with anything ever done by Premier and we'll see who sounds more original.

Take it easy metronome, I didn't mean to offend you or anyone else. My personal experience says sampling is easy o.k. If you have found other ways to make it creative and difficult, then it's fine with me. I didn't make the comment saying "ANYONE WHO SAMPLES SUKS!" So please don't get upset with me. All my "OPINIONS" are from and for my experience only.

I do take it easy.

The point is that uninformed people such as yourself post incorrect assumptions that could be mistaken as being valid. This is my opinion. I am not saying "YOU SUCK" and I am not upset with you (I don't even know you), but your assumption that sampling as a whole makes music unoriginal is false. This is from my experience.
