Dragging issue?

Hi there,
Sorry if this is a bit of a noob question but here goes; Every time I have an audio clip or a section of midi and I drag it slightly along my track in order to correct timing for instance it drastically drags the rest of the clips/midi that is later on the track even further to the right. This is incredibly tedious, does anyone know of a way to fix this?

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by dragging midi....
An audio clip - do you move a piece or section of the audio track?
If so, I highlight the track and the section I need to move.
Then do one of the two:
- cut it, position my cursor later and paste.
- use the nudge option to move it a fw milliseconds at a time.
 
Click on the track to select only 1 track.
Use Edit - Nudge to push it along.
If it's audio and you don't want the whole track moved, use the scissors to snip a piece of the track, then nudge it.
If it's midi, double click on the midi track and move the bits that need moving.
