anyone using one? in any event, they're site is actually pretty informative on many aspects of microphone use and they're fairly classy on integrating it with their catalog... just curious if anyone was using them - the specs looks decent.... just sent away for their price list...

DPA mics are stunning, wonderful, majestic, etc., etc., etc. Accurate, detailed, colorless, transparent, almost to a fault. In the same league as Schoeps CMCx/MKx Series, Microtech Gefell M29x Series and Josephson Series 6.

i have owned many many SD condensers, including schoeps cmc64s, gefell m300s, km184s, NT5s, akg c391b's and c481s, and DPA 4006s, 4011s, and 4061s. the DPA 4011s (cards) and the DPA 4006s (omnis) are simply the very best mics you can buy. they are pretty much completely neutral and transparent, and you just cant beat them - period. they are often the first choice of professional classical recordists, and work amazingly well in both near field and diffuse field applications. i love em...

i have a pair of the 4011's and a 4006. amazing mics.

for a bit there you could pick up a 4006 really cheap used! i got mine for 500 a couple years ago. saw one going for 450 and 600 in the past year.

worth every penny - great for almost anything - my first pick acoustic anything mic - (until i tried the gt44 on upright bass a couple months ago and on acoustic acoustic last night!! WOW. )

i've been meaning to try them out on toms as their off axis response is just amazing. when you use these in a one room situation with more than one instrument - everything cleans up as the bleed is just so nice and workable.

mine have problems sometimes getting powered by my averill 312's 48V....so i do believe they are nutso power hungry.

Brüel & Kjær is still the original measurement microphone company. Danish Pro Audio (DPA) was formed from the specialist pro audio division of B&K.

gullfo, I've used quite a few B&K and DPA mics. Anything about them you'd like to know?

aside from the fact they're probably going to be more than my current budget... :-) i'm curious to know how they work for vocals and acoustic guitar - it would seem being omnidirectional that the room sound would be crucial in getting a good sound since it seems like (from other comments) that these mics are crystal clear in capturing sound...
