Dp 24 input

Hi all
I received my new dp 24 this morning but I've come across a problem.
When I put a fader up to 0db for recording guitar it sounds terrible but if I push the fader up to max it's fine. I know you should have the fader at 0db.
Can anyone tell me if they have the same thing. This is all with out any effects it's just a straight in.

Can ayone help me please?
Im worried that my new dp 24 has a fault.
When I plug in a mic im now hearing what sounds like a reverb. All effects are off its just a mic straight into source A.
What with the strange effect coming though when I plug in a guitar im worried now.
My last Stuido was a 2488 neo and that was great no problems. Im hoping its me doing something silly.

I'm guessing you have the effects on and do not know it.....maybe it was a returned unit?

That being said, on 2nd day I would probably just return it and grab another....I wouldn't take a chance

I noticed that on the mixer screen I had the insert effect on. even though all the effects where off this seemed to make it go all strange ?
I turned it off and its ok now. could this still be a fault ?
I seem to finding the DP 24 a bit harder to use than my Neo. I guess ill get used to it. :-)
