DP-01FX Software Updates

Being a first time digital Porta Studio owner I'm just wondering if Tascam ever updates the system software and makes it available to us? I know I'm running the newest version for the DP-01FX (v1.10) because there was two leaflets sitting on top of my manual explaining the metronome and some other features. So do older owners of this unit get to enjoy the new features through some sort of download from Tascam?

the upgrades are free i think, but there seems to be a share of problems.
