Im just curious.
Since sonar 3, i can remember there being a "software monitoring" feature that basically lets you monitor yourself in real time when recording. you can put effects on the feed in real time like reverb etc. Personally, i have had nothing but bad experiences with this feature. i have a difficult enough time getting a low latency as it is, and this always pushed my computers beyond theri capabilities. I now use the hardware monitoring on my MOTU and things work in near-real time.
does anybody rely on software monitoring, while still putting a load on theri computers, i.e. recording several tracks at once and having several tracks playing, and having some live effects on the live monitor?
