Your questions about 20/20 speakers matching an amplifier:
I would think the impedence or ohms would have something to do with whether the speakers do the job? Maybe you could rent the speakers and give them a tryout?
I have two sets of speakers hooked into my recording system: Infinity and Alesis I's.
My amp is a Yamaha integrated box; since I have to connect two tape decks, and a CD player, I have been using the integrated amp. The Yam does a good job and the speakers run well together or singular.
Stay away from the San Adreas Faultline.
