Chip Quik. Chip Quik: Easy removal of surface mounted devices
Marketed as a SMD removal kit, I used it to remove a through-hole resistor from a 2-sided through-plated board.
It can be challenging to re-work a through-plated board, particularly if solder has wicked right through the hole. You often need to cut the leads to the part and remove them individually, and there is always the risk of lifting a pad.
Using Chip Quik, I got a very quick and clean result, no board damage, and saved the resistor (I didn't have any more of that value).
