Dithering and Sonar

If I record a song in sonar at 24bits and the want to burn it down to a cd is there any way I can capture that 24 bit sound onto 16 bits? Will dithering do this if so what plug in should I get to perform this operation?

Thanks in advance

although I don't do 24-bit stuff, my understanding is that all the tools are built into sonar to convert to 16-bit. There is an option checkbox in the Audio dialogue to enable dithering upon conversion. When you File/Export to a .wav file or another 16-bit format, sonar should reduce the data right?

Err, yeah... it makes it 16 bit quality.

Dithering, however, by adding noise to the file, helps it to sound better than just simply truncating to 16 bits.
